This video introduces Google Refine (now known as Open Refine), a free tool for working with messy data. Google Refine is a useful desktop application for looking at raw data -especially large datasets- and exploring it to get an idea, or big picture, of what it contains. Perhaps even more valuable, it is also a useful tool for discovering inconsistencies and fixing them.
