A brief, text-based tutorial (with diagrams) to be read before using the Jena API to run SPARQL queries. It explains that the data to be queried (in future exercises) will be in the form of an RDF graph and expressed as triples, and also that different serializations can be used to represent them. Example uses Turtle and vCards.
